UNM Affiliate - Corporate

Recreational Services at the University of New Mexico offers volunteers, contractors, on-call and research groups access to Johnson Center. The center contains a weight/cardio room, Olympic pool, Therapy pool, racquetball courts and several basketball courts. Below are the procedures and what your Rec Card is limited too. 

VERIFICATION

  • Must work for company affiliated with the University of New Mexico.  Examples include Chartwells, Mind Institute, Lobo Energy, UNM Foundation. 
  • Confirmation of employment from company's HR department required.  Written statement on UNM letterhead.  Company's affiliation with the University will be confirmed. Issuance of Rec Card is not guaranteed.   Authorization must first be obtained from appropriate UNM department, typically the Provost or Vice President of Student Affairs.  Any other type of confirmation must be approved by the Recreational Services' Director or Associate Director.

PRICE

  • Fee is $40.00 per UNM semester (Master Card, Visa, Cash or Check).

*Note: Starting on July 1, 2012 a new Rec Card policy will take effect. A one time $10.00 charge will be applied for all new Rec Card memberships. Renewal memberships will not have to pay this $10.00 charge unless they have not renewed their membership over a 3 semester period.

PROCEDURE 

  1. Bring documents and photo ID to Recreational Services, Johnson Center Room 1102, 277-0178.  If your HR department has provided Recreational Services with a  list of employees, your name will be on file with the Department.
  2. New Rec Card.  After signing up, in 4 days you go to the Lobo Card office to have your  ID made.  You can call to see if they are ready to badge you earlier than 4 days.  277-9970.
  3. Renewal.  Your card will be electronically renewed within 4 working days.  You do not need to go to the Lobo Card Office unless you have lost your card. Must be renewed each UNM semester.  Confirmation is also required each semester.

*Rec Card is only valid for use of facilities.  Access to fitness classes or other programs are fee based.  Some programs and classes are only available to current UNM student, faculty and staff.

**Rec card only available for the employee.  Not available to the spouse, domestic partner or dependent on the employee.
