Temporary Faculty & Staff

Recreational Services at the University of New Mexico offers Temporary Faculty & Staff of UNM access to Johnson Center. The center contains a weight/cardio room, Olympic pool, Therapy pool, racquetball courts and several basketball courts. Below are the procedures and what your Rec Card is limited too. 

Temporary/On-Call Employees who are eligible for a Rec Card and purchase the current semester membership are eligible for a locker. Click here to find out how.
 

VERIFICATION

  • Must provide a letter from sponsoring department on UNM letterhead verifying employment.

PRICE

  • $40.00 per semester.

*Note: Starting on July 1, 2012 a new Rec Card policy will take effect. A one time $10.00 charge will be applied for all new Rec Card memberships. Renewal memberships will not have to pay this $10.00 charge unless they have not renewed their membership over a 3 semester period.

SPONSOR (Spouse, Dependent, and/or Domestic Partner)

Spouse, Dependent and/or Domestic Partner of Temporary Faculty and Staff members may purchase a Rec. Card for each semester. $40.00 per semester.

For a spouse to obtain a Rec Card a marriage certificate and a photo ID are required.

The dependent of Temporary Faculty and Staff members must be between the ages of 18 -25 and have proof of residency and age to obtain a Rec Card.

For a domestic partner of a Temporary Faculty and Staff to obtain a Rec Card an affidavit and photo ID are required.

Temporary Faculty and Staff with a Rec Card can also sponsor a Guest for $10.00.

SPONSOR PROCEDURE

  1. Both parties must be present when applying for the Rec Card.  Bring your proof of marriage or affidavit and photo ID to Recreational Services, Johnson Center Room 1102, 277-0178.
  2. After signing up, in 4 days you go to the Lobo Card office to have your ID made.  You can call to see if they are ready to badge you earlier than 4 days.  277-9970.
  3. Rec Card is only valid for use of facilities.  Access to fitness classes or other programs are fee based.  Some programs and classes are only available to current UNM student, faculty and staff.
