San Geronimo Feast Day/Taos Pueblo (September 30): San Geronimo Feast Day is one of the most spectacular events in New Mexico. Festivities include a wonderful trade fair, food booths, the sacred Koshare Clowns and harvest pole climb. It is a unique cultural experience in the heart of the beautiful Taos pueblo. $35.00 UNM Students/$45.00 all others. Includes admission, transportation and guide.
La Luz Hike/Next Level (October 1): Are you ready to challenge yourself and go to the “next level?” If you are in good shape and want to do a little extra then let our trained guides get you up the La Luz Trail in the Sandia Mountains. La Luz is an 8.8 mile hike to the top and then down on the tram. There is a vertical gain of 3851 feet! $38.00 for UNM students. $40.00 for all others. Cost includes guides, transportation and tram down. (Difficult hike)
Kayak Balloon Fiesta Float (October 5): Start your morning off with a unique way to see the International Balloon Fiesta. Typically the weather allows for the balloons to go over to the Rio Grande to do a “splash and dash!”. $50.00 for UNM students. $75.00 for all others. Includes kayak rental, equipment, guide, and instruction (transportation to river location not included).
Kayak Fall Colors Fall Break Float (October 7): October is always the best month here in the Land of Enchantment! Enjoy an afternoon float down the Rio Grande and enjoy the Fall colors! $50.00 for UNM students. $75.00 for all others. Includes kayak rental, equipment, guide, and instruction. (Transportation to river location not included).
Wilderness 1st Aid (October 29-30): Accidents can and do happen in the backcountry, in remote places, and right in the foothills… are you prepared for an emergency? Whether you use the knowledge for yourself or others, being able to apply basic backcountry first aid is vital for any outdoor enthusiast. This course teaches skills ranging from preparation and prevention to assessment, treatment, and long-term care of medical issues common to wilderness and remote settings. Classroom lectures and discussions are supplemented by outdoor, hands-on scenarios. Upon completion, participants receive a 16 hour Wilderness First Aid certification from Wilderness Medical Associates. $155.00 for UNM/CNM students $165.00 for all others
